Media Cymru call for Wales’ boldest creatives to showcase immersive content at Outernet – London’s most visited attraction

Media Cymru and Outernet London are inviting pitches from experienced creatives for a new piece of immersive content – a rare opportunity to create bold, audience-centred experiences on one of the most advanced real-time media stages in the world.
Following a workshop at Tramshed Tech in Cardiff, up to two successful projects will each receive up to £25,000 to develop their idea.
The work must amplify the identity, and future, of creative innovation in Wales and harness the extraordinary technological capabilities of the Outernet.
Media Cymru is seeking memorable ideas that push creative and technical boundaries: from interactive narratives and responsive soundscapes to generative visuals, AR integration, or immersive storytelling triggered by audience movement. Think immersive theatre meets digital art; data meets dance; music meets movement.
Producer at Media Cymru, Gavin Johnson, says:
“Outernet is a live, immersive canvas sitting in the heart of one of the world’s busiest cities. For Welsh creatives, this is a rare chance to experiment at scale, to connect with new audiences, and to tell powerful stories using some of the most exciting technology out there. It’s exactly the kind of future-facing platform that aligns with Media Cymru’s mission to champion innovation, sustainability and inclusive growth in the media sector.
We see this as the start of a long-term relationship between Wales and one of the UK’s most visible creative stages. We can’t wait to see how our creators rise to the challenge.”
Successful projects will form part of Media Cymru’s landmark showcase in Autumn 2026.
Outernet is a global media entertainment company bringing together music, film, art and gaming in immersive ways. Their London entertainment space, based in Tottenham Court Road, features the world’s largest and high-resolution wrap-around screens.
Applications open on Monday 16 June and close on Friday 27 June.
