Millions across the globe log on to watch live as Wales Interactive launches new game trailer

Welsh games studio and Media Cymru consortium partner, Wales Interactive, has premiered the trailer for its latest interactive horror title – Dead Reset – during a live global event with nearly 80 million people watching worldwide.
Game launches at the annual PC Gaming Show (which aired Sunday 8th June) are usually reserved for the likes of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to reveal the most anticipated title releases of the year.
About Wales Interactive
Cardiff-based game developer, Wales Interactive, is recognised as the world’s second-largest publisher of interactive movie content after Netflix.
About Dead Reset – collaboration with Dark Rift Horror
Wales Interactive’s new game which is an interactive film – titled Dead Reset – was developed through the Interactive Film Challenge, a Media Cymru-funded R&D initiative.
PC Gaming Show’s invitation to premier the trailer for Dead Reset, Wales Interactive’s new ambitious live-action, narrative-driven horror, now showcases the developer’s standing as a world-leader in game innovation.
Wales Interactive joined forces with UK horror studio Dark Rift Horror to produce a title that pushes the boundaries of full-motion video (FMV) gameplay. The result is a dark, cinematic experience where death becomes a mechanic for survival and players’ choices shape four dramatically different endings.
Players control Cole Mason, a surgeon caught in a deadly time loop. Guided by moral decisions, eerie encounters and fractured alliances, players must navigate an unfolding mystery where dying opens new paths, and no outcome is predictable. The title is set to launch on PC, consoles and mobile later in 2025.

The partnership began when Dark Rift Horror’s team attended Wales Interactive’s Secrets to Writing Interactive Content workshops. A chance for new writers to enter the field of game-making, 17 creatives were invited to explore Wales Interactive’s innovative narrative tool (WIST) and to take their writing to the next level.
Dead Reset is the latest addition to Wales Interactive’s portfolio of innovations for the global interactive games sector. Its back catalogue includes award-winning titles: Sker Ritual, Late Shift, The Bunker, Maid of Sker, The Complex, and the breakout dating hits Five Dates and Ten Dates.
Richard Pring, Executive Producer and Co-Founder, Wales Interactive said:
“We are so excited to announce this brand-new interactive horror alongside our partners Media Cymru and Dark Rift Horror. Dead Reset is the result of a perfect match, as together we share a love for unique narrative experiences and grisly horror stories.
“Media Cymru’s support has given us the freedom devote significant time and resources for R&D, and I know the results of those experiments and the innovations brought through collaboration will be clear to all who play Dead Reset.”
Dr. Matthew Boswell, Programme Manager for Media Cymru said:
“Welsh creatives are pushing boundaries on what it means to create new products and experiences for consumers around the world. It’s crucial that that ambitious creative businesses can access the support they need for research, development and innovation that can play a huge role in boosting access, growth and opportunities in the creative industries.
“Wales Interactive are a great example of a globally connected, but locally rooted company who are committed to the wider effort of making Wales a fair, green, global hub for innovation”.
The new game experience cements Wales’s place as a force in the global video games industry and Media Cymru’s role in the R&D that led to Dead Reset’s creation also highlights the growing global impact of Wales’ innovative screen and creative sectors.
