Response to Senedd Inquiry on Culture and the new relationship with the EU for the Culture, Communications, Welsh Language, Sport, and International Relations Committee

Brexit has had a considerable impact upon creative artists in Wales. It is more difficult for travelling shows to access and move through Europe. Hiring skilled staff from the EU has become a more complex process. Subsidy Control regulation is more bureaucratic than European State Aid. The “one-stop-shop” for information and support recommended in 2018 should be established and negotiations with the EU on a general agreement on cultural touring should continue, to ensure barriers are removed or, at least, further reduced.
